Come on down to the Sea,
To see the Blackpool F.C.
Come on down to the shore,
Don’t want to go home…

Transfer News: New Striker Ellis Simms
It seemed a matter of time before we strengthened in the January transfer window, and at last Ellis Simms has joined on loan for the rest of the season from Everton. Here, we take a look at what Simms will bring to the squad and how it improves our squad. Our attacking options have beenContinue reading “Transfer News: New Striker Ellis Simms”

What went wrong with Woodburn?
Ben Woodburn joined the Seasiders in October on a short-term loan, with the option to extend until the end of the season. Arriving from Liverpool, the fans’ reaction was overwhelmingly positive as the fans had been calling out for Critchley to lean on his Melwood connections to bring in some Premier League talent. After spendingContinue reading “What went wrong with Woodburn?”

Review – Hull 1-1 Blackpool
Blackpool were left wondering what might have been after a frustrating 1-1 draw against second-placed Hull City. The Tigers took the lead early in the second half but, after Hull went down to 10 men when Reece Burke brought down Ben Woodburn on the edge of the box, the Seasiders equalised through Jerry Yates and had chances to come away with all three points.

Analysis: Who’s out of contract this summer?
As we head towards mid-January, focus turns to the Winter Transfer Window. The Blackpool board will surely have targets in mind who have been analysed through the summer and over the season so far. But as well as looking at new faces, it’s also time to start looking at the summer transfer business – namelyContinue reading “Analysis: Who’s out of contract this summer?”

Review – Blackpool 2-2 West Brom (3-2 Pens)
An inspired performance from Neil Critchley’s men earned Blackpool their first victory against top flight opposition in the FA Cup since 1976. The Seasiders took the lead late in the first half after a dangerous ball across the face of goal from Bez Lubala was touched home by Jerry Yates.

Analysis: A review of Blackpool’s style of play over the season so far
It has been a mediocre season on the whole for the Seasiders and really that should have been our expectation from the start. Practically an entire new squad was bought in this summer and it was Neil Critchley’s first chance to try and imprint his own mark on the club since his arrival. As weContinue reading “Analysis: A review of Blackpool’s style of play over the season so far”

Opinion: Quality over Quantity
With January additions surely around the corner at Blackpool, unlike the previous transfer window, it’s quality that Blackpool will be after rather than quantity. After the recent performance against Bristol Rovers in which we had 21 chances, of which only five were on target, it is conclusive what area the transfer activity needs to happenContinue reading “Opinion: Quality over Quantity”

Review – Shrewsbury 1-0 Blackpool
Blackpool fell to a 1-0 defeat against Shrewsbury after a lacklustre performance away from home. The Seasiders were slow and passive for the majority of the game, with Daniel Udoh striking the killer blow late in the first half

Transfer/Insight: Sam Walker
It’s not yet January, but the Winter transfer business is underway – this time enforced as we bring in an emergency loan goalkeeper in Sam Walker from Reading, following the positive COVID tests from both Chris Maxwell and Matty Virtue. The club has intentionally left a space open in the squad for an emergency goalkeeperContinue reading “Transfer/Insight: Sam Walker”
