Preview – Eastbourne Borough vs Blackpool

Blackpool will be looking to continue their run of consecutive victories as they face non-league side Eastbourne Borough in the FA Cup 1st round. The Seasiders will be away from home at a controversially empty ground after all FA Cup 1st round fixtures were banned from having spectators. Neil Critchley will potentially look to rotate his side ahead of fixtures against Peterborough and Doncaster to come. However, with an EFL trophy fixture in midweek too, he may chose to keep the momentum going and go full strength.

Review – Blackpool 1-0 Wigan

Blackpool achieved successive victories for the first time this season after beating Wigan Athletic 1-0 at Bloomfield Road. Sullay Kaikai was the second half match winner with an instinctive finish in what was a relatively comfortable night for the Seasiders. The Latics came into the game more in the second half as Neil Critchley’s side sat off into a defensive shape, but the Tangerines managed the game well and made it nine points out of a possible twelve in the League.

Preview – Blackpool vs Wigan Athletic

Blackpool will be looking to build on an impressive 2-1 away victory at Burton as Wigan Athletic come to Bloomfield Road. The Latics sit 21st place in the League One table with a fairly poor start to the season and the Seasiders will be hoping they can get their first successive victories of the season.

Review – Burton Albion 1-2 Blackpool

Blackpool finally ended a run of 22 away games without victory by defeating Burton Albion 2-1 at Pirelli Stadium. Jerry Yates opened the scoring with a smart finish into the bottom right corner of Kieran O’Hara’s net, before a Daniel Gretarsson debut own goal levelled proceedings. After a foul on Marvin Ekpiteta, Jerry Yates dispatched a penalty calmly to secure the three points for Neil Critchley’s side.

Preview – Burton Albion vs Blackpool

Blackpool will look to build on a resilient performance against AFC Wimbledon without two key man as they face Burton Albion at Pirelli Stadium. The Seasiders go into the game in 18th place in the League One table, whilst the Brewers sit bottom of the division. Bolstered by a new addition to the coaching staff in the form of Colin Calderwood, Neil Critchley will be hoping to come away victorious in what is a big game for his side.

Review – AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Blackpool

Blackpool‘s poor run of form continued as AFC Wimbledon defeated the Seasiders 1-0 at Loftus Road. We ended the evening on 9 men for a large portion of the game as Ethan Robson was sent for an early bath in the first half, before a bizarre Daniel Ballard left us with an almost impossible taskContinue reading “Review – AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Blackpool”

Preview – AFC Wimbledon vs Blackpool

Blackpool will be looking to get back to back victories for the first time this season as they face AFC Wimbledon who are a place above them in the table. Neil Critchley’s side were able to end their winless streak against MK Dons on Saturday and, with a much more solid defensive display under their belts, they will hoping this feeds confidence going into the tie at QPR’s stadium whilst Plough Lane is under development.

Review – Blackpool 1-0 MK Dons

Blackpool picked up a much needed victory at home to MK Dons with Sullay Kaikai the 66th minute match winner. Whilst the Seasiders put in a display that left a lot to be desired, a solid defensive display and one moment of quality was enough to put a lacklustre Dons side to the sword.

Preview – Blackpool vs MK Dons

Blackpool will be looking to build on two improved performances against Crewe and Charlton respectively on Saturday against MK Dons. The Seasiders have won only one of their League One games this season and Neil Critchley will be hoping that a win at Bloomfield Road will be seen as a catalyst to a turnover in the season.

Review – Blackpool 0-1 Charlton

Blackpool’s miserable start to the season continued after a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Charlton. The Seasiders showed promising signs again following on from an impressive performance at Crewe, even with ten men following a 52 second red card from the increasingly unreliable James Husband. Yet, with just seven minutes of normal time remaining, substitute Chuks Aneke fired past Chris Maxwell to leave the Tangerines second bottom of the League One table.

Preview – Blackpool vs Charlton (h)

Neil Critchley’s Blackpool side will hope to pick up their first win in five games as they play host to Lee Bowyer’s Charlton Athletic. The Addicks come to Bloomfield Road sitting 15th in the League One table and will be hoping to pick up their first away win of the season. The Seasiders will be bolstered by the arrival of deadline day additions Ben Woodburn and Kenny Dougall, with Daniel Ballard and Daniel Gretarsson still to make appearances for the club.

Review – Crewe 1-1 Blackpool

Blackpool put in a much improved performance but it wasn’t enough to get all 3 points away at Crewe. A MOTM performance from Oliver Turton and a goal from Grant Ward gave the Seasiders optimism providing a dominant display.

Five Good, Five Bad – Liverpool

A familiar scoreline at Anfield – at least at half-time, eh? Pre-season has been one of the most eventful in recent years with 11 new players, 16 departures, essentially a new management team and plenty of positive signs on and off the field. But surely this and the Everton games go down as the bestContinue reading “Five Good, Five Bad – Liverpool”

Transfer News: Ethan Robson

After a quiet couple of weeks, with the only transfer news about departures from Bloomfield Road, a signing was much needed to bring back the positive feeling around Blackpool. That’s happened today with the new signing of former Sunderland midfielder Ethan Robson. We mentioned on social media that Neil Critchley likely had irons in theContinue reading “Transfer News: Ethan Robson”
