utmp take a look at some of the best kits designed by PUMA following the announcement that they’ll be manufacturing Blackpool’s new kits for the next three years! They have designed a fair few ‘orange’ kits over recent years – let’s hope they get the Pantone right for Tangerine!
It really does feel classy being a Blackpool fan right now. For years we have endured cheap kits which tend to tarnish very quickly. For a League One side to gain a kit sponsor as highly esteemed as PUMA, it finally seems that we actually are following our motto of ‘progress’ at last.
Stroke of Genuis from Sadler?
Simon Sadler and the board have been rectifying the under-par facilities and areas off the field that our players and fans have been so used to for a number of years. The dressing rooms have been revamped, there have been new signage at Bloomfield Road and Squires Gate – not forgetting the modular system that is currently being built. And add to that list a fantastic kit now on its way.
In challenging times for everyone during COVID-19, particularly football clubs looking to make ends meet with no clear revenue, fresh new kit of quality is just what Blackpool require in order to get further much needed money into the club.
Now for the kits!
We have selected our favourites from a bunch of PUMA previous designs along with a small section on some tangerine classics.
PUMA have created some classics and they are arguably more creative than their competitors Nike and Adidas. From the very out-there Cameroon ’18 kit with some great graphic work, to the new BVB Dortmand Shirt which looks like it’ll be a huge hit next season. Citeh’s and Arsenal’s tops have been included as it’s nice to see they can provide a classic, minimalistic top. We’ve got the feeling PUMA may play it safe and stick with traditional.
Current colours close to Tangerine:
Our top pick are the Ivory Coast’s elephant graphic, Newcastle’s third shirt from this season, and Marseilles incredible retro inspired shirt, which shows a strong resemblance to our ’89 classic ‘Bass’ shirt. Whatever the club decides, we’re sure it will be miles better than recent kits and we can’t wait for the kit release!
Well done Sadler, what a man.
